Wildfires have led to evacuation of about 30 residences in a North Texas community where 2011 blazes destroyed dozens of homes amid the drought.
The Texas A&M Forest Service on Tuesday reported grass fires that burned about 100 acres in the Possum Kingdom Lake area were 25 percent contained. Nobody has been hurt and the evacuations are precautionary.
Agency spokeswoman Holly Huffman says no structural losses were reported.
The fires broke out Monday afternoon in the area about 75 miles west of Fort Worth. Huffman says rough terrain and weather are issues. Forecasters predict highs in the upper 80s Tuesday with winds 10 to 15 mph and a chance of rain late in the day.
Officials initially reported about 130 acres burned. The Texas A&M Forest Service adjusted the figure.
