Wells Fargo Bank robbery suspect caught after short chase

December 30, 2013: A suspect is in custody after a bank robbery and a short police in northwest Houston. Phil Archer reports.

HOUSTON -

A suspect is in custody after a bank robbery and a short police in northwest Houston.

It happened around 11:15  a.m. Monday at the Wells Fargo Bank on West 43rd Street.

According to FBI agents, the suspect never showed a weapon. He walked into the bank and simply handed a teller a threatening note. He walked out with a bag full of money. Investigators say some customers who were there didn't realize there had been a robbery until it was over.

Houston police said the suspect was later seen driving on the West Loop.

When police tried to pull him over, he refused to stop...leading them on a chase that ended at E. Orem and Mykawa rd where he was arrested and taken into custody.

Police found some of the cash taken in the robbery, in the car.

The suspect will be facing armed robbery charges. Police and FBI agents are trying to determine if he's connected to other Houston robberies.
