HOUSTON -

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz remains focused as was welcomed back to Texas by supporters.

Cruz is home in Houston for a rally Monday night less than a week after the partial government shutdown ended.

One of his top goals remains the end of Obamacare.

"My ire is focused on Obamacare because it's not working and it's hurting the American people. And I don't think it's acceptable, I'm not willing to go to the Texans who elected me and say,'well, you're hurting because of Obamacare but I was my hands, there's nothing I can do about it,'" said Cruz.

But a new poll shows Cruz's efforts to end the Affordable Care Act that led to the shutdown is not winning him friends.

A new You-Gov/Huffington Post survey shows that while 25 percent of those polled have a very or somewhat favorable opinion of Senator Cruz, the highest score of any lawmaker in it, but the survey also showed twice as many have a very or somewhat unfavorable opinion of Cruz.
