"I have a dream."
Those words were made famous by Martin Luther King Jr. and they fill our hearts when we think of our dreams for our family, friends and country.
As the nation celebrates the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and the "I Have a Dream" speech, NBC News is asking Americans to share their dreams for the present and future of our country.
Friday through Wednesday, you're invited to take part in #DreamDay by completing this sentence:
"I have a dream that ______________."
NBC News will spotlight the messages across their shows and social media channels sharing the dreams of millions of Americans.
You can submit to NBC News by using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Vine with the hashtag #DreamDay. Then, look for the messages on the "Today" show, "NBC Nightly News," and NBCNews.com/DreamDay.
In addition, NBC News is dedicating special coverage leading up to the anniversary with a special "Meet the Press" edition on Sunday, rebroadcasting an interview with Martin Luther King, Jr. from 1963 days before the original March on Washington.
