Three men are facing aggravated kidnapping charges, accused of offering two underage girls a ride but then locking the car doors and refusing to let them go.
At around 9pm Monday, Nia Nowlin and her friend say they were hanging outside near their home in the 1100 block of Grassy View Drive when they say three men drove up to them. She says her friend knew the boys, but she didn't know them.
It started to rain so they say they got in to avoid getting soaked. But the men locked the doors and drove off.
Neighborhood kids told Nia's parents that the girls were taken.
Alicia Nowlin and her husband Galen Crawford stepped outside and found the suspects' car parked in their neighborhood.
They called police, ran to the car and rescued their daughter from 21-year-old Blamo Marton, 19-year-old Dominic Marton and 20-year-old Christian Tejan.
"We asked them if they knew they were underage. He wanted to drive off but that's when I came through the passenger side and took his keys out the ignition and he got upset over that," said Alicia Nowlin.
"He was getting in my wife's face and that was unsettling. I had to defend my family so basically I hit him and I kept on hitting him and we were trying to restrain them from leaving until because police were on their way," said Crawford.
Harris County Sheriff's deputies arrived and arrested the men. They've been charged with aggravated kidnapping.
If found guilty, all three men face a maximum sentence of 99 years in prison.
