Teen accused of threatening to blow up school

A teenager was arrested after allegedly threatening to blow up an alternative school.

HIGHLANDS, Harris County -

A teenager has been charged with terroristic threat after allegedly threatening to blow up a school building in Highlands.

According to court documents, River Gonzalez, 17, threatened to blow up the Point Alternative Center, a school located at 401 Jones Road.

Gonzalez is accused of making the threat on October 28.

The principal of the alternative school told investigators that students told him Gonzalez had stated he intended to place bombs around the school and was going to blow it up on November 6.

Authorities said one student also said Gonzalez said he was going to place bombs in the front and back of the school and he knew how to make pipe bombs.

According to court documents, officers searched the school on Monday and found no explosive materials.

Gonzalez posted a $5,000 bond.
