GALVESTON, Texas -

Sources have now confirmed the name of the man who fell to his death Tuesday aboard a Carnival Magic cruise ship.

"Oracle" company confirms that the man who fell from his cabin balcony on the cruise ship is one of its employees, 39-year-old Chris Carter.

We are told he died in the early morning hours.  Witnesses say he was sitting on the railing of his cabin balcony when he fell and landed on the open deck three decks below his cabin.

A friend told us that Chris was travelling on the cruise for work-related purposes.

At the time of the accident, the cruise was in the Gulf of Mexico bound for Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan.  It is a seven day cruise that took off from the coast of Galveston last Sunday.
