Recall: Baby, kids sunscreen lotions

WASHINGTON -

Federal safety officials are recalling two sunscreen lotions.

The Food and Drug Administration says 4-ounce SPF 30 Baby Sunscreen Lotion and one lot of its 4-ounce SPF 30 Kids Sunscreen Lotion products made by W.S. Badger Co. Inc. have been recalled for microbial contamination.

Officials said the products were tested and found to be contaminated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida parapsilosis and Acremonium fungi. No adverse reactions have been reported in connection with these products.

The affected products include the following:

  • SPF 30 Baby Sunscreen Lotion 4oz (UPC: 634084490091&634084490114) Lot #’s 3024A, 3057B, 3063A, 3063B, 3132A, 3133A
  • SPF 30 Kids Sunscreen Lotion (UPC: 634084490145 & 634084490169) Lot # 3164A

Both sunscreens are sold online and at major retailers, as well as independent food co-ops and pharmacies.

Consumers who have purchased recalled sunscreen lotion stop using it and return it to the original point of purchase for a full refund. You can also contact Badger directly at 1-800-603-6100 or email.

Adverse reactions that may be related to the use of this product may be reported to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting Program either online, by regular mail or by fax:
