HOUSTON – As an employee at Shipley Do-Nuts walked to work Friday morning, they noticed something odd.
According to investigators, the employee saw two men wearing hoodies breaking into the shop on the corner of Airline Drive and West Dyna Drive.
Police said the burglars fired several shots through the drive-thru window as well as a window on the side of the building, creating a hole large enough to climb through. Once inside, the pair headed straight for the store's safe.
When the Shipley Do-Nut's employee saw the burglars, they dialed 911. Houston police rushed to the scene but were too late. By the time officers arrived, the crooks were gone.
The manager of the store said he's frustrated; burglars broke into the same store one week earlier. In fact, the manager said he had just gotten one window repaired from the last break-in.
This time, the thieves got away with around $300.
