Police catch alleged car thief

Police arrested a man Tuesday who was allegedly involved in stealing numerous vehicles from the Bayway Lincoln car dealership.

Police responded to a call after an employee reported that a man, stole various items from the service department, including numerous sets of keys, which were used to steal several vehicles.

An employee later spotted one of the vehicles, reported it to officials and a detective began surveillance on the vehicle.

A detective watched a man, identified as Albert Palmer, get into the vehicle and leave. He then followed Palmer, who entered into an apartment complex near Ledge and Clearwood in Houston.

Police took him into custody, but continue the investigation.

Six late-model vehicles and three new SUVs were stolen from the dealership, amounting to more than $100,000.

Palmer is being held without bond.

Anyone with any information on the car thefts is asked to call Pasadena police or the Houston Police Department.
