Police are hoping newly released sketches will help them find the two men who are responsible for robbing two Pizza Hut employees at gunpoint in Sugar Land.

Police said officers responded to the Pizza Hut in the 3600 block of State Highway 6 just after 11 p.m. Sunday.

Officials said two armed men entered the restaurant, jumped the counter and demanded money from the safe. The employees could not open the safe, so the two suspects took money from the cash register.

According to police, the employees were forced into a bathroom and told to stay there until the suspects were gone.

While searching the area, police were told that two men matching the gunmen’s description were seen running through bushes at the Foundations at Edgewater Apartments, 2222 Settlers Way.

Police described the suspects as black men. One was 30 to 40 years old and about 6 feet tall.  He was wearing black pants, a black shirt, a black hat and glasses. The suspect was in his early 20s and about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was last seen wearing khaki shorts or pants. He also had a thin beard that included sideburns that continued down his jaw line to his chin.

Authorities said there were no surveillance cameras at the restaurant.

Anyone who believes they recognize the suspect should call the Sugar Land Police Department at 281-275-2540 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS (8477).
