June 5, 2013: Thursday will be the last day of school for Sue Park Broadway Elementary School students and some parents are hoping a mistake in their child's yearbook will be fixed before the day ends. Camille Williams reports.

SPRING, Texas -

Thursday will be the last day of school for Sue Park Broadway Elementary school students, and some parents are hoping a mistake in their child's yearbook will be quickly fixed.

On Monday, parents picked up their child's yearbook and saw events like the theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado, the school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, among other events that happened during the 2012-2013 school year.

The school warned parents in an email that the publishing company made a mistake. Parents became outraged.

A Conroe Independent School District spokesperson said they contacted the company and they plan to deliver a different insert to the school on Thursday.

"I think kids need to know what's going on in the world, but there's a certain age and it has to be left up to the parents," said parent Phil Maidlow.

Parents picked up the yearbooks before the kids saw them. Another email will be sent to parents letting them know the correct insert is available.
