Thieves smashed into cases in the electronics section of a Walmart and got away with pricey Apple iPods. Investigators say customers were in the store on Rowlett and the Gulf Freeway in southeast Houston during the robbery.
Walmart shopper Steve Strutz is always on alert when he's pushing his cart through Walmart store off I-45.
"You've got to pay attention, you've got to look around; you can't rely on everyone else to do your own work," said Strutz.
This after Houston police say a couple of crooks walked into the 24-hour Walmart at around 4:30 in the morning back in January, smashed an Apple products case and got off with thousands of dollars worth of electronics.
"Crooks are getting more and more, how should i say it -- brazen? They just walk into the store. There are just too many avenues for them to come out -- there are five or six doors," said Strutz.
Police recently arrested Cody Wayne Clark and charged him with felony theft. Investigators say Clark was with another man at the time and got away with nearly two dozen devices from iPods and Nanos to iPads.
As police continue to search for the second suspect in this case, they are reviewing video surveillance as well as speaking with eyewitnesses to the crime.
