Deputies: Teen injured in shootout over girl in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a teen boy who allegedly shot another teen in a dispute over a girl.

The shooting happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Park at Woodland Springs apartments in the 24000 block of Richards at Woodline.

According to deputies, a 17-year-old boy and a few of his friends went to another teen's apartment to confront him about a girl.

The 17-year-old, who was armed with a gun, demanded that the other boy step outside.

The boy and his mother walked out of their apartment, both armed with guns, deputies say.

Gunfire erupted and the teen who was with his mother was shot in the arm.

The 17-year-old and his friends ran away.   Montgomery County investigators know his identity.

The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition. 

Several shell casings were found at the scene.
