Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center reached out to the families at their hospital who had babies born on Monday and gave them a little "royal treatment" of their own!
The boys got crowns adorned with blue jewels and the girls were given pink tiaras. Each mom went home with a special goody bag and Crave Cupcakes gave them a cupcake with a candy crown on top.
"It's a way to commemorate that they will always share a birthday with the 3rd in line for the throne," said Kathryn Klein, senior marketing and communications specialist for the hospital.
As of 9 p.m. on Monday, 14 babies had been born at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Most of the new moms said when they arrived at the hospital they had heard Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, was also in labor.
"I got in my room and turned on the news," said Schellcy Turner, who gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Ayden. "I was like, oh the princess is trying to steal my day!"
"I was thinking, she's gonna steal my thunder!" said Amy Cortez, who gave birth to Jacob. "The rest of the world may have been focused on the royal baby but we were focused on him."
