The Pearland Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify the suspect involved in an identity theft scheme.
According to officers, the suspect was able to obtain the victim's debit card information and Personal Identification Number using a "skimming device," while they were pumping gas at a service station.
Authorities say he then used the personal information to create clone debit cards and make fraudulent cash withdrawals from users' accounts.
Officers say the compromise happened during the weekend of April 18 at the Murphy Fuel Station at 3200 Dixie Farm Road.
So far, police say they have received 22 reports of fraudulent action from the scheme.
The device used has been seized and is being examined by investigators.
Detectives say the suspect is an Asian male in his 20s or 30s, driving a Toyota Prius.
If you can identify the subject or have information regarding these cases, you're asked to call the Pearland Police Department.
