HOUSTON -

A man was critically injured after being hit by a car while trying to cross a northwest Harris County highway, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Around 10 p.m. Thursday, deputies said a man tried to cross Highway 6 at an unprotected area near Willow River.  According to reports, when he walked into the last lane, a car traveling south hit him.
