Oct. 21, 2013: Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in southwest Houston. Courtney Gilmore reports.

HOUSTON -

Authorities are investigating after a man was found shot to death in southwest Houston.

It happened around 5:15 a.m. Monday on Beverly Hill and Greenridge.

When emergency crews arrived, the car was smoking and the fire department was called to assist.

Witnesses told Local 2 they heard the gunshots and then saw the Bentley roll several feet into the ditch.

Inside the vehicle, officials said was a man in his 30s who was slumped over after being shot several times.

Detectives believe more than one person pulled the trigger.

“Judging from the casings, it looks like two different types so we're looking at two different guns,” said Sgt. Richard Rodriguez with the Houston Police Department’s homicide unit.

The shooting happened a block away from where officers said the victim was trying to open up a gentleman's club on the Richmond strip.

Police are trying to find the last person the victim was with before he was shot. Officials said a personal item found inside of the victim's car gives them a clue.

“It looks like a woman's purse, but we don't know… it could have been left in there,” said Sgt. Rodriguez.

Houston police believe this murder was "deliberate and personal."

According to police, the victim's friends told officers that he did not have any enemies or problems with anyone.

If you know anything about this shooting, you’re asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.
