Brian O'Neil Freeland, 39, is accused of breaking into a gas station and stealing a beer.

HOUSTON -

A Houston man is facing burglary charges after breaking into a gas station.

It happened Thursday night at the McDonald's and Chevron Station at 3941 Fondren Road at Westpark Drive.

Police say employees were serving a customer at the drive-thru window when they heard a noise in the ceiling. Authorities say the employees looked up and saw a man coming out of the ceiling.

The man was eating and then grabbed a beer, according to investigators.

Police found Brian O'Neil Freeland, 39, about six blocks away on the 3300 block of Fondren with a large beer in his hand.

Freeland has a pending charge of burglary of a building.

His criminal history includes a weapons charge and three drug-related offenses.
