HOUSTON – KPRC 2 and American Furniture Warehouse are surprising 20 deserving high school seniors with scholarships in 2024. All students selected for scholarships have been nominated by their high schools.
Dickinson High School senior Matthew Stapp is the twelfth $2,500 scholarship winner from the Class of 2024. Dickinson High School is part of the Dickinson Independent School District.
Stapp is his class salutatorian, ranked second out of 741 students in his graduating class. He has racked up more than 200 hours of volunteer work, including mentoring elementary school students through Dickinson High School’s PALS Program.
Serving as treasurer for several organizations at his school keeps Stapp busy. He is involved with Student Council, National Honor Society, DECA and Academic Decathlon.
Stapp plans to study finance at the University of Texas in Austin.
