Houston's Super Bowl bid Committee announced Wednesday what will happen over the next few years as the city prepares to host the Super Bowl in 2017.
Mayor Annise Parker says more than one million visitors are expected over the two weeks leading up to the big game.
Parker said crews will get to work faster in order to "make sure there are no major construction projects that will impede" things.
“There will be three new light rail lines under operation by the time the event comes," said Parker.
Those lines include the north line that will connect to downtown, the east-end line and the southeast line.
There are also plans for a bus route dedicated to the Uptown district by 2017.
