Katy girl finalist in Warren Buffett's business challenge
An 11-year-old Katy girl has come up with a new arts and crafts app. In fact, her idea has earned her a trip to present her concept to Warren Buffett.
Kyna McGill is one of five finalists in the Grow Your Own Business Challenge from around that nation who will get a shot of winning $5,000 to turn ideas into a real business.
"Me and my sister got rainbow looms for Christmas. My sister needed help on hers and I was having difficulty," said Kyna.
After looking online and through the app store for help learning to weave their bracelets and having no luck, Kyna had an idea.
"My idea is crafts to go," she said.
It's an app that helps you design and create crafts. She's an avid crafter herself.
Kyna is a student at Fielder Elementary and her family could not be more proud of her.
"It was really really awesome that I found out that I was in the top 10," Kyna said. "Then when I found out I was in the top five it was even better."
Now Kyna gets to go to Omaha, Nebraska to meet Warren Buffett and present her idea to a panel of judges, who will select a grand-prize winner.
