One rescued after fire tears through house in north Houston

Sky 2 was over the scene after flames tore through a house Tuesday afternoon in north Houston.


Flames tore through a house Tuesday afternoon in north Houston.

It happened shortly after 4pm in the 4700 block of Sharman at Cavalcade. Heavy smoke could be seen for miles.

Firefighters have gone defensive, pulling men out of the house.

Several residents were able to escape, but one resident was trapped on the porch and had to be rescued.

One adult female resident was removed from the home and was transported to the hospital as a precaution for mild smoke inhalation.

HFD says approximately 45 firefighters responded to the incident which was tapped out at about 4:50 p.m.

Arson investigators are on scene to determine the cause of the fire.
