Fights break out throughout Houston on Christmas

Dec. 26, 2013: Court records examined by Local 2 Investigates reveal at least 67 separate Harris County assault cases resulting in criminal charges from Christmas Eve through Thursday. Joel Eisenbaum reports.

HOUSTON -

Court records examined by Local 2 Investigates reveal at least 67 separate Harris County assault cases resulting in criminal charges from Christmas Eve through Thursday.

Nineteen of those cases are classified as "Family Violence".  Another eight cases included alleged violence against police officers.

Among the trouble recorded; a neighborhood football game that spiraled out of control.

Another violent incident, also recorded on Christmas night, pitted two groups fighting over a child's Christmas present.

Harris County deputies and Houston police officers were injured trying to manage the two large brawls. Each is expected to make a full recovery.
