Sept. 14, 2013: Deputies are asking for the public's help finding a 69-year-old Texas man diagnosed with traumatic brain injury. Amanda Perez reports.

A missing 69-year-old Texas man diagnosed with traumatic brain injury was found safe in Waller County.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office conducted a search for Chacko Jacob, 69, after he left his house in Sugar Land, Texas around 3 p.m.

According to authorities, Jacob left in a black 2008 Mercedes 550 with Texas license plate FJY-846.  Law enforcement officials believed Jacob's disappearance posed a credible threat to his own health and safety, which is why they initially issued the Silver Alert.

Family members said Jacob suffered a brain injury earlier this year and suffers from memory lapses and confusion.

Jacob's nephew told Local 2 that Jacob wasn't supposed to be driving, but on Saturday afternoon he managed to get car keys and he drove away from his home on Black Falls Lane in the Woodbridge subdivision.

"He was on life support for such a long time. We're grateful that he's come back to life," said Varghese John. "He's not in a position to drive at all."

The Department of Public Safety found Jacob unharmed on I-10 in Waller County.
