February 3, 2014: Surveillance cameras caught a man breaking into four local body shops. Joel Eisenbaum reports.

HOUSTON -

Surveillance cameras caught a man breaking into four local body shops.

Police say the thief is after equipment worth tens of thousands of dollars. He is an incredibly successful burglar who has set his sights on Houston's big rig dealerships.

In the last two weeks, the man, with little more than a crowbar, has cut, pushed and pried his way into four northeast Houston businesses.

The thief is looking for tools owned by individuals. The mechanics in these shops are essentially independent contractors and they foot the bill for their own tools.

There is nothing high-tech about the thief's operation. On weekends, mostly mornings, he cut fences, pries open garage doors and uses force to get what he wants.

Police are currently in the process of assigning these cases to an investigator.
