HOUSTON -

The owners of a home in the 11000 block of Kirkhollow Drive said the three men in a dark colored, four door car that backed up to their home, are thieves.

The car pulled up to the home near Beltway 8 and the Gulf Freeway about 1:40 p.m. Friday.

The owner said the men kicked in the front door and stole about $10,000 in jewelry and electronics. The thieves were caught on surveillance cameras installed after the owners had their tires stolen.

"It breaks my heart," said the owner's daughter. "Just hearing my mom when she called me and told me what happened broke my heart also because they came and they created a living here for us from other countries."

Her family has lived in the home for 13 years. She said the men also stole her grandma's jewelry and passport.

If you recognize the men in the surveillance video, you are asked to please call Houston police at 713-308-0700.

Officers told Local 2 they have noticed a rise in the burglaries and robberies at apartment complexes in the Clear Lake Area.

A police spokesperson said they have added patrols in the area. There are apartments not far from Kirkhollow Drive.
