Nov. 14, 2013: Humble ISD confirmed a bomb threat was made at Atascocita High School Thursday morning. Ryan Korsgard reports.

ATASCOCITA -

Humble ISD confirmed a bomb threat was made at Atascocita High School Thursday morning.

In a letter sent out the parents, Principal Bill Daniels said a 911 was made from the campus about the bomb threat. The caller identified the bomber as another student.

DPS investigators, Harris County sheriff’s deputies, Humble ISD police and school officials investigated the threat and learned that the call was a prank.

Daniels said the school was searched, but no devices were found. Classes at the high school were not interrupted and the school day started at the normal time of 9:15 a.m.

Daniels said “intermittent internet service delayed parent notification by text.”

“For decades, schools across the nation have been dealing with individuals making false bomb threats in an effort to be disruptive," Daniels’ statement to parents read. "While kids may think of it as a prank, it is a crime. Anyone making a threat faces serious school discipline and criminal charges. This is a good opportunity to discuss with your students how sometimes people can make bad choices that adversely affect themselves and others."
