Nov. 20, 2012: Houston police are looking for two would-be burglars who fled after finding the 79-year-old homeowner inside. Jennifer Bauer reports.

Houston police are looking for two suspects who broke into a home on the city's east side Tuesday morning. The 79-year-old homeowner said the suspects were two teens who didn't expect to see her once they kicked down the front door.

"That boy looked up and saw me and he was real startled," said the homeowner, who asked to have her identity concealed because the would-be crooks haven't been caught. "He had a strange look on his face and he hollered, 'Run, run, run!'"

They kicked the door so hard it knocked the entire frame off and there was splintered wood all over the woman's living room.

"It hit that door so hard it rocked the whole house. It just vibrated," the victim said.

She said the teens knocked on her door around 10:30 a.m., but she was getting dressed so she wasn't able to answer it. A few seconds later, she said they barged in.

"I was close enough, if he had a gun he could have shot me dead right there in the hallway," she said.

The two suspects ran out the front door and hopped in a getaway car. The victim didn't get a good look, but said it may have been a Toyota Corolla, black or gray in color.

The woman said she is getting a new front door and an alarm system, but said if the teens come back, next time she'll be ready for them.

"I'm gonna shoot them if they come back," she said with a chuckle. "I have a loaded gun, but I wasn't expecting no robbery because I haven't had one in 56 years!"
