One of Houston's most well-known landmarks is for sale.
A subsidiary of Hines Real Estate Investment Trust announced Wednesday it has put the Williams Tower on the market.
Published reports suggest the skyscraper could command as much as $450 million.
In the Galleria, few locations compare to the spot the Williams Tower is sitting on.
"When people speak about the Galleria, this is where the heart of it is. This is my physical point. A physical landmark," said John Shonk, who works in the area.
"It's something that can be seen from miles away to know where you're going," said Kasey Puckett, who works in the building.
The skyscraper was built in the early 1980s, and was formerly known as the Transco Tower.
While the building itself is on the market, KPRC Local 2 has learned the water wall set up further down the property is not.
