HOUSTON -

A woman was killed and two drivers were arrested after a collision in southeast Houston.

Houston police said the driver of a GMC Envoy left a bar shortly before he ran a red light at the intersection of Galveston Road and Edgebrook Drive about 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday.

He hit two vehicles, a Honda Civic and a Department of Public Safety SUV, while trying to make a turn, investigators said.

The passenger in the Civic, a 22-year-old woman, died at the scene. Her name has not been released.

The driver of the Envoy was found hiding in a bush near the scene, police said. He was arrested and taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. His name and the charges he will face have not been released.

Investigators said the driver of the Civic had also been drinking.  He was taken to the hospital in police custody.

The trooper in the SUV was not hurt, but his passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
