Sunday brings changes in weather forecast

The next 24 hours is a time of transition for southeast Texas as a front moves through this evening. Expect rain on the leading edge of that front and windy conditions with gusts above 20 mph. Rain chances are 70 percent for late afternoon into evening.
Computer models are in general agreement that the timing of the frontal passage will be from mid to late afternoon for areas near College Station and off the coast near midnight.
The winds, which will be from the south most of the day and will help get our high temperatures in the low 80s, will be from the north after the front passes ushering in cold air the next several days.
The result will be temperatures dropping to the low 40s by Tuesday morning with some outlying rural areas hitting the mid to upper 30s.
Next week will actually be cooler than normal with highs mostly in the mid to upper 60s and low 70s with low in the 40s and 50s.
The next rain chances are next weekend!
