CONROE, Texas -

A 16-year-old has been accused of making a fake bomb threat against a high school.

Conroe Independent School District police said they received multiple anonymous phone calls that there was a bomb at Caney Creek High School, 13470 F.M. 1485.

Students and staff were evacuated while police searched the school.

"We all just came out to the parking lot and they told us we weren't allowed to go the football field. Eventually we went to the football field and we stayed there for like an hour," student Jessica David said

Detectives said they traced the calls to a cellphone number that belonged to a student. The student was arrested and confessed to making the threat, investigators said.

The student will likely face criminal charges.
