Streets to close for Holiday Parade

Nov. 21, 2012: Many roads will be closed for holiday events on Thanksgiving. Jennifer Reyna reports.

HOUSTON -

Several downtown Houston streets will be closed for the annual Holiday Parade.

The 63rd annual Holiday Parade, presented by HEB, will start on Texas Avenue at Crawford at 9 a.m. Thursday. Hundreds of thousands of spectators are expected to line the parade route.

Floats will wander down Congress and San Jacinto before ending on Walker at Caroline. (For the parade route, click here.)

The following downtown streets will close for the route.

  • Crawford between Texas and Congress beginning Wednesday at 6 p.m.
  • Hamilton, Chartres, St. Emanuel between Texas and Congress beginning Thursday at 7 a.m.
  • Texas between Hamilton and Crawford Wednesday at 7 p.m.
  • Texas between Bastrop and Hamilton Thursday at 7 a.m.
