March 5, 2013: Police hope a sketch will help them identify a man who broke into a home and attacked a teenager while she was in a shower. Mary Benton reports.

A sketch of a man who broke into a home and attacked a teenager while she was in the shower was released on Tuesday.

Friendswood police said a man kicked in the front door of a home in the 16100 block of Bougainvilla Lane about 10:40 a.m. on Feb. 26.

The man then confronted a 15-year-old girl in the shower, investigators said. The man got into the shower and the two struggled, police said.

The teen fought back and the man ran away into the Heritage Park subdivision, detectives said. Before he left, the man told the teen that he had a gun, officials said.

A K-9 tracked the man's scent to the intersection of Mountain Timber and Leigh Canyon, but he was not found.

The teen described her attacker as black, in his late teens to early 20s and about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build, short hair, stubble on his chin and a deep voice. He was last seen wearing a wet T-shirt and jeans.

Police are working to determine if the man could be connected to other break-ins in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call Friendswood police at 281-996-3300.
