The Houston Independent School District is investigating after two students said someone fired shots in their direction while they were walking to school.

It happened when the kids were on their way to Macario Garcia Elementary School, 9550 Aldine Westfield Road, in north Houston Wednesday morning.

Principle Aaron Dominguez alerted parents to the incident.

"Two of our students reported that while they were walking to school. Someone in a tow truck fired a weapon in their direction. The students were not injured," said Dominguez.
