TOMBALL, Texas -

A man shot in a Montgomery County neighborhood was driven to a nearby fire station for help, but firefighters couldn't save him.

The shooting happened around 9 p.m. Sunday in the 24100 block of Zahn Road. Neighbors in the Cypress Wood subdivision heard the gunshot and called police, but when officers arrived, they did not find anything.

A short time later, the victim, Alfredo "Freddy" Medina, 37, was dropped off at the Rosehill fire station in the 19000 block of FM 2920 in Tomball. He was shot once in the chest.

Firefighters worked on Medina, but could not save him.  He was pronounced dead at the firehouse.

Deputies said they do not have a motive, but they do have good leads.
