Jan. 28, 2013: A security guard fires shots at a man who tried to break into a car outside a game room, investigators say. Mark Boyle reports.

SOUTH HOUSTON, Texas -

A security guard fired shots at a man who tried to break into a car outside a game room, investigators said.

City of South Houston police said a guard at a game room in the 3800 block of South Shaver near Vista looked out a window about 9:30 a.m. and saw a man trying to break into a car.

The guard went outside and told the man to stop, but he ended up firing shots at him, investigators said.

The man fled after shots were fired, police said. Officials said they do not know if he was wounded.

A description of the man has not been released.
