Jan. 30, 2013: Three schools are locked down for a short time while police search for robbery suspects. Courtney Gilmore reports.

Three northwest Houston schools were locked down for a short time on Wednesday while police searched for two robbery suspects.

Houston police said they focused their search on the Shadowdale Oaks Apartments, 2135 Shadowdale near Hammerly.

The Spring Branch Independent School District locked down Spring Woods High School, Spring Oaks Middle School and the Tiger Trail Pre-Kindergarten School during that search. All of the lockdowns have been lifted.

Parents said they were glad the school district took swift action to keep their children safe.

"I'm glad they have a plan in place," one mother said.

Police have not released any information about the robbery officers were investigating. Detectives said they captured one of the suspects at the apartment complex, but the other man jumped over a fence and ran into a neighborhood. A detailed description of him has not been released.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
