Dec. 3, 2012: A woman's purse is stolen out of her car as she pumps gas, police say. Nefertiti Jaquez reports.

A woman had her purse snatched while she was pumping gas in Pasadena.

Pasadena police said the incident happened at the Murphy USA station in the parking lot of the Walmart store on Fairmont Parkway a few weeks ago.

Investigators said a man opened the woman's unlocked car, reached in and swiped her purse.

The woman left the vehicle unlocked because her granddaughter was in the back seat, officials said.

Police said there have been several similar cases at other gas stations in Pasadena in the past month.

A description of the thief has not been released.
