LA PORTE, Texas -

La Porte police released a picture of a man wanted in connection with a car burglary.

A family returned from dinner to find their vehicle had been broken into in a parking lot in the 2600 block of Underwood Road.   Police uncovered several sets of fingerprints and a blood sample left behind by a possible suspect.

After submitting the blood evidence to the FBI's Combined DNA Index System, detectives said Jerry Edward Ramirez, 31, of Houston was identified as the suspect.

Ramirez has a criminal record, and that led the Harris County District Attorney's Office to declare that Ramirez will face felony-level burglary charges.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Anyone who has seen Ramirez is asked to call La Porte police at 281-842-3173.
