Police need tips about body wrapped in rug

Sept. 18, 2012: Residents of a southwest Houston apartment complex are shocked after a man's body is found wrapped in a rug. Mary Benton reports.

HOUSTON -

Residents of a southwest Houston apartment complex are shocked after a man's body was found wrapped in a rug inside a unit.

The man's body was found at the Plaza apartments in the 6200 block of Westheimer on Monday.

Houston police said they don't have any leads on who killed the man or the motive for the slaying.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will determine the man's identity and how he died.

Residents said they don't feel safe anymore.

"It's bad," resident Juan Torres said. "I'm going to move … don't like it here anymore."

The apartment complex does have security.
