Police are searching for a person of interest wanted in connection with a double slaying in southwest Houston.
Houston police said a woman found a man in his 40s and a woman in her 60s shot to death at a home on Bahia near Willview. An investigator said the two victims were the woman's sister and nephew.
Carlos Pomares lives on Willview Road and was devastated to discover the loss of his neighbors who he considers like family.
"When I went inside the house, I found the mother dead on the sofa and the son on the floor dead," said Pomares. "We knew her as Mother Turner and the older son was Mark."
Pomares said Turner's sister knocked on the door and told him to go the house. When he looked inside, he saw Turner and her son shot multiple times.
Houston police were called to the scene.
"One, a black male in his mid 40s, shot multiple times. Another older black female, maybe in her 60s or so, were shot multiple times as well," said Investigator Joshua Horn, Houston Police Department. "Both are deceased."
Pomares said he's lived here since the early 1970s and grew up with this family. He said he was heartbroken and surprised that this happened.
"The mother was salt to the earth," said Pomares. "She was a mother to everybody here that grew up in this neighborhood. I used to babysit the twin daughters."
Police said they have no suspects. They don't believe this was a home invasion.
Police said they are looking for a person of interest, 45-year-old Keith Turner, who lived inside this home.
They are also looking for the victims' vehicle, a 2001 black, four-door Dodge Dakota pickup truck with Texas license plates BLS-7589, was missing.
Turner has not been charged in this incident, however, he is believed to be possibly armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information in this case, on the whereabouts of Keith Turner or the missing Dodge Dakota pickup, is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
