Oct. 5, 2012: A man is accused of forcing his way into a home to with the intention to rape a woman. Nefertiti Jaquez reports.

A man has been accused of forcing his way into a home with the intention to rape a woman.

Sergio Lopez, 21, has been charged with burglary of a habitation.

Pasadena police said Lopez knocked on a door in the 2200 block of East Harris on Sept. 19. A woman answered the door and Lopez pushed her onto a sofa and tried to remove his and the woman's clothing, investigators said.

The woman fought Lopez and he eventually left, police said.

"You barely see her walk out here unless she's with her husband and kids," neighbor Emanuel Maya said about the woman. "She just doesn't seem like the same person anymore. Who would after something like that happens?"

Police said Lopez's tattoo helped them crack the case. He has the word "Mexico" tattooed on his stomach, and the victim mentioned that in her description of her attacker. The woman also picked him out of a photo lineup, investigators said.

Lopez has not been arrested. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
