WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -

A Florida executive who was free on bail while appealing a manslaughter conviction will spend Thanksgiving 2012 in jail.

John Goodman, a Wellington polo executive, had his house arrest suspended on Friday during a court appearance after being accused of tampering with his ankle bracelet.

According to deputies, he destroyed his ankle monitoring device with a handheld mirror.

Goodman's attorneys tried to argue that he knocked the device on the door of the shower, but deputies testified that was unlikely.

He was sent back to Palm Beach County Jail. Goodman faces another hearing Nov. 26, when the judge will consider revoking his $7 million bond.

He had been on house arrest pending the appeal of his DUI manslaughter conviction in the death of 23-year-old Scott Wilson in 2010.

Goodman made national headlines after adopting his girlfriend to protect his fortune.
