ALVIN, Texas -

A man was shot to death during an apparent robbery, investigators said.

Brazoria County sheriff's deputies said they were called out to the 19000 block of County Road 927C in the Alvin area about 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

Detectives said they were responding to a robbery in progress call, but when they got to the scene they found that 24-year-old Albert Garcia had been fatally shot.

A second man, Reynaldo Garcia, was shot in the leg and taken to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators said they searched the area and found two men hiding in a field about 400 yards from the scene of the shooting. They were taken into custody and were being questioned about the killing.
