A man held up a southwest Houston bank on President's Day.

FBI officials said the Chase Bank in the 2900 block of Weslayan was robbed about 1 p.m. on Monday.

Detectives said the man had a threatening note and read it to a bank teller. He claimed to have a weapon, but the bank tellers did not see it, investigators said.

The man left after getting an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber was described as black with a dark complexion, in his early 30s and 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a white construction hat with a white bandanna underneath, a navy long-sleeved hooded sweatshirt with a blue shirt underneath and "worker" glasses.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
