HOUSTON -

A man was robbed after washing his clothes at his apartment complex near Memorial Park.

According to police, the victim had been in the laundry room at the Memorial Club apartments, 904, Westcott, when two men came up and asked him for directions at 11:30 p.m. Monday.

He was almost at his apartment when it happened. He said he tried to get away.

"I just kept walking," said the victim. "That's nowhere around here. As I started rushing more towards the stairs, I started rushing up the stairs.  They said, 'If you move, we're going to shoot your head off.' I just turned around and there was a gun just pointed at my head."

The men stole his wallet, his phone and his keys. Houston police said he did the right thing and did not fight back.

The HPD Robbery Division is investigating. If you have any information call police at 713-308-0700.
