WELDON, Texas -

A man was hurt in an explosion at a plant in Houston County.

Houston County Fire Marshal David Lamb said two tanks exploded at Navidad Weldon Gas Processing Plant on County Road 3375 near F.M. 230 in Weldon, Texas, about 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

The explosion caused a fire, which burned a man, Lamb said.

The victim was rushed to a hospital in Trinity, Texas, and was transferred to a hospital in Houston. His condition was not released, but officials said he is expected to recover.

"He has burns on his back, arms, legs, his face, head," Weldon Fire Chief Dennis Taylor said. "It looked like first- and second-degree burns."

People who live near the plant said they felt their windows rattle and saw smoke after the explosion.

It took firefighters more than an hour to put out the blaze.
