HOUSTON -

It's the day before Christmas, and shoppers are now scrambling to buy, wrap and put presents underneath the tree.

At Memorial City Mall, procrastinators are not wasting any time.

"I procrastinated so now I'm here early in the morning," said Helen Camarillo, a last-minute shopper. "I don't know why I waited. Just at home being lazy."

At Toys R Us in west Houston, shoppers showed up at all hours of the night. The store has been open around the clock since Friday and will stay open Monday until 10 p.m.

"Got off work and had to come buy the stuff last minute for my baby," said David Huerta, a last-minute shopper.

Memorial City Mall will stay open on Christmas Eve until 6 p.m.
